Investing in 5G Stocks

As long as the bull market still runs, I believe the best investing area will be in 5G related stocks.  This can be the communication tower companies like AMT and SBAC along with providers and companies which will make chips for 5G.  It is possible that the chip related stocks will be the biggest gainers.

Skyworks (SWKS) will be making 5G phone chips and auto chips.  Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM) will be manufacturing 5G chips and advanced small scale computer chips, and ASML will be making equipment so that 5G chips and advanced computer chips are possible.  These are the top three stocks that we should load up on.

When Negatives Really Matter To Stocks

The ten year old bull market does not want to die, and many investors have been gored by the bull.  However, sometimes multiple negatives can send the market crashing as the Dow lost 343 points on October 1, 2019.  Real impeachment talk, a PMI of 47.8 for manufacturing, and no resolution in the China trade lead to the bear chomping hard on the bull today.

I already held a significant position in TMF, the triple long bond ETF, but I am planning to buy more tomorrow.  People have been talking about a bond bust for years, but it has never happened, and it cannot happen while we have multiple serious negatives since people will always run for security in troubled times.  This is a winning trade although I will take profits at certain times.  I am following the MACD cycle primarily for this trade, and I will be buying as the signal line moves up.  Then, when I see it make a new high while the MACD starts to fall, I will sell while I am up.  Sometimes it can take months to get a good trade setup, but it is well worth trading when you have the chance.

Dog Days of Summer Stocks

August and September are not good months for stocks.  Whether stocks rally again this fall or not, we need to be concerned also that the Dow has broken its 200 day moving average three times since last fall.  This is an unmistakable sign of a market top even though some people may not want to hear that.

Is it time to go short then?  No, that won't work either because too many people want the bull market to continue, and someone once said that the market can remain irrational for longer than you can remain solvent.  So, you will be gored if you act too soon.

What I am doing myself is building positions in dividend stocks.  One stock is BLV, Vanguard's long term bond ETF.  It is up 15 percent since last fall in addition to a dividend of around 3.5 percent.  The management cost for you to own the ETF is also almost nothing.

Another stock that I own is Pimco's Income Strategy II Fund, PFN.  It is currently my largest holding.  It pays a dividend of around 8% per year, and you get paid part of that each month.  I love monthly dividend stocks.  Management costs are more than 1%, but I think the stock is very much worth owning.

I am working toward having a portfolio comprised of at least 50% quality dividend stocks so that I don't have to worry about stock market volatility.  It is okay to take some risk, but you need to be able to sleep at night knowing that half of your money is reasonably safe.

Buy With The Insiders For Stocks

We are currently in a topped out stock market where you cannot just buy a popular stock and expect it to go up.  If we expect to make money, we must buy the stocks that are currently being bought by insiders because they are expecting their stocks to go up.  The best website I have found for tracking insiders and cluster buys is OpenInsider.com.  You will see the latest insider and institutional investor buys and sales.  You can also search for your favorite companies to see if big buying is occurring in stocks that you like.

2019 Stock Trends

2019 may become a difficult year for stocks as it was in 2018.  With trade wars and Congress gridlock, the market will be hard to predict.  However, since the Federal Reserve finally took a dovish stance, we probably won't have a recession this year.

The biggest and most predictable trend that I see is with marijuana and hemp stocks.  CBD oil for medicine can be made from both plants, and there is a strong demand for CBD oil.  You could do an internet search for pot stocks and hemp stocks and take your pick.  They will probably all be volatile.  Nevertheless, if you buy at the bottoms and take profits at the tops, they could be worthwhile trades.  You could also keep a core position in each one.  This is what I am doing.

Some of the biggest marijuana stocks that I own are CGC, CRON, and HEXO.  I also own penny stocks in this area that I cannot recommend yet.  Anyway, probably around 50% of my portfolio will be locked up in this sector while the trend is solidly positive.

Rebuilding From Chemotherapy

One bad aspect of chemotherapy is that you might lose a lot of weight.  On the surface, this might sound great, but if you lose so much that your bones are almost showing through your skin like I did, then you have lost too much.  For example, I lost skin tissue everywhere, and you need a certain amount of skin cushioning for your bones.  My feet were particularly affected to the point that it felt like I was walking on bones, and it hurt.  So, I knew I had to rebuild my body, and I have regained 25 pounds since then.

How did I gain quality weight back?  Naturally, I consumed a lot of protein through milk, protein shakes, eggs, and chicken.  However, I needed to do more than that.  Thus, I started taking a body-building product called Secretagogue-One, and it helped a lot.  It comes in a box of 30 lemon flavored packets of nutrient powder that mixes easily in 10 ounces of water.  The formula contains human growth factors such as glutamine and tyrosine along with other ingredients.  In fact, glutamine is so important for muscle repair that I add extra glutamine powder to the Secretagogue-One drink.  I will keep taking these supplements as well as L-Carnosine for energy for as long as it is necessary.

Coping With Chemotherapy

One of the most feared things in life is to be diagnosed with cancer.  I am one of the people who were affected by this problem.  Thankfully, I am now in remission after months of chemotherapy.  I am still on a mild drug called Avastin to keep the cancer from coming back, but my doctor is very happy with my progress.

In case you want to read more about my story, you could visit www.memoirsandstories.com to follow my continuing diary.  My article on this subject can be found in the "more" column of my website.  For example, I mentioned some supplements that help people get through chemotherapy, and I am currently talking about what I am doing during remission.  I hope that my story will help anyone who is dealing with cancer.

Linux Mint

Are you tired of the problems of dealing with Microsoft Windows with their constant updates and with viruses getting through Windows in spite of virus protection?  Then, you would enjoy getting used to Linux, and there are easy ways to do it.  Disc.com has a variety of Linux thumb drives and CDs to get started with Linux.

This past Friday, my Windows operating system got attached by a virus again, and I could not get rid of it this time.  Fortunately, I already had a Linux Mint operating system on a thumb drive from Disc.com.  I had previously used the thumb drive during another virus incident, but I was unsuccessful in getting Linux installed in dual boot mode.  Either Windows or my virus protection would not let me install Linux that way.  So, I took the OEM choice in the Linux Mint menu and wrote over my complete hard drive to erase all traces of Windows and my former virus protection.

This operation worked well although I found out you have to leave the thumb drive in your computer when you boot to Linux for the 1st time.  Once the system loads, you will get a prompt that says you can remove the thumb drive.  After I removed the thumb drive the 2nd time, the computer was able to boot into Linux on its own.

Now, I am having to manually install my website bookmarks, but I am okay with that.  Linux has been working fine all day, and I am done with Microsoft unless I have to buy a new computer.  Then, once again, I will have my Linux Mint thumb drive ready to install the minute Windows screws up.  Anyway, I am happy with my current internet access with Linux, and it will stay that way for the life of my current computer.

Diversification Wins With Stocks

Everyone knows that putting all of your eggs in one basket will usually be disastrous, and diversification is good.  However, picking certain allocations for a portfolio can be tricky.  What has worked for me is to put 20-50 percent of my money in bonds and stable fairly high-yielding dividend stock funds.  Currently, my dividend stocks allocation is 23 percent the last time I looked.  This means I will make money in spite of how volatile the general stock market is.  I will never lose all of my money since any trading I do will be with just  77 percent of my money.

For example, last year I made 30% on my 401K portfolio by being safe with 23 percent of my money while I had 77 percent to trade with.  I made thousands of dollars on bitcoin through the bitcoin ETF called GBTC.  In fact, I even got a $339 dividend from GBTC as well as the capital gains.  However, bitcoin is presently dead for now because foreign countries are now closely regulating bitcoin, and hackers have taken away the appetite for many people in bitcoin since they don't want to lose their money.

So, what am I doing with the 77 percent trading and investing money in 2018?  First, I am involved in the electric car boom.  I own LIT which is a lithium stocks ETF.  I own cobalt stocks also because cobalt and lithium are both needed for electric cars.  In addition, I own TSLA and VLKAY because I am making money on Tesla and Volkswagon with their electric cars.

Secondly, I am making money on natural gas exports of LNG.  I own Cheniere Energy (ticker LNG), and I recently bought Dominion Energy (ticker D) because they will soon start exporting natural gas also.  I have not made any money yet on Dominion, but I believe it will soon happen.  So, these are some of my ideas about making money in stocks while having a safe dividend allocation as well.

2018 Winning Stocks

The stock market continues to rise, and I am expecting good returns in 2018.  Some of the winning stocks that I have noticed are EEM and FM for emerging markets, LNG for natural gas exports, LIT for lithium which is used in electric cars, and SPXL which is a 3x S&P 500 ETF.  I may own any or all of these stocks at anytime.

For example, I have owned Cheniere Energy (LNG) for quite some time.  They are exporting LNG natural gas at a record pace.  It is up more than 10 percent in one month, and they can keep rising.
The lithium ETF with the ticker symbol LIT has also been a money maker for me.  Electric cars are here to stay, and they all require a lot of lithium.

Cancer Chemo Therapy

For anyone taking cancer chemo therapy, there are three supplements that can help with energy levels:  CoEnzymeQ10 (300 mg), magnesium (400 mg), and vitamin B1 (200 mg).  I know this works first-hand because I just went through six months of chemo therapy for liver and colon cancer.  I was far more worried about dying from low energy levels rather than cancer itself.

Fortunately, the cancer was almost gone two months ago, and I was near the remission target then.  Since that time, I have taken four more treatments, and I am expecting to be cancer free next week when I take my final CT scan and CEA cancer blood marker test.

Concerning the CEA cancer blood marker test, it is highly accurate.  When my cancer was discovered in June of 2017, my CEA number was 144, and I was in a lot of liver pain.  After four chemo treatments, my CEA number dropped to 26.5, and I was pain free.  After eight chemo treaments, my CEA number dropped to 8.1, and I was still pain free.  Now that I have taken 12 treatments, I am expecting my CEA number to be in the 1 to 2 range when I am tested next week, and I will be virtually cancer free.

Winning Stocks

It is hard to tell these days whether the stock market will go up or down.  One thing that has remained certain over the past year is that volatility has been low.  This plays right into the hands of XIV, the inverse volatility index.  It has gone from around $34 per share to $89.61 during the past year, a gain of 161 percent!

I'll have to admit that I missed XIV this past year.  However, I did make a lot of money by investing and trading in bitcoin through GBTC.  It actually gained over 200 percent to beat XIV.  Unfortunately, bitcoin will be busted for a while because governments like China and Japan are cracking down on bitcoin.  So, I am out of the bitcoin trade for now, but I will be loading up on XIV for this next year because I am betting on another year of low volatility in the stock market.

Another winner for this past year was PNQI, the internet stocks ETF.  It gained over 29% during the past year.  I held a small position in PNQI during this time, but I am going to buy more of the internet stocks ETF for this next year because I believe that PNQI can be worthwhile along with XIV for two of the best stocks to hold in an uncertain market.

Northern Dynasty Minerals (NAK)

I have owned Northern Dynasty for years in spite of its ups and downs.  It will be one of the biggest mines in the world if it is completed, and it has experienced a tremendously unfair amount of bad news from environmental groups.  The biggest argument is that it will pollute Bristol Bay which is 100 miles away.  Such arguments are pure nonsense.

Here is a great article on Seeking Alpha about the pros and cons of owning NAK.  The bears will eventually be overcome, and bulls for Northern Dynasty will be greatly rewarded.  The majority of the people in Alaska will probably see the great financial benefit of the mine in the next few years, and they will shut up the environmentalists.  Also, Trump and the Republicans are in complete control of the government now, and they are much more reasonable on environmental issues.

Natural Gas 2017

The wide swings for natural gas stocks appears to be over for now because a lot of long and short traders have exited the natural gas trade.  You can read this article at Seeking Alpha to see why natural gas is not attractive this summer.

The price of natural gas is basically uncertain because we have plenty of supply and demand, and the two are balancing out now.  I own a lot of UGAZ because I thought there would be a summer spike due to utilities using natural gas for cooling.  We are also exporting more natural gas.  Currently, I will probably have to wait until the fall season before I will make any noticeable profit.

Buy Raytheon RTN

I am buying Raytheon (RTN) on Monday morning.  This is the company which makes the Tomahawk missiles that were fired at Syria this past week.  According to one article that I read, the 59 missiles cost more than 1.5 million each, and the Department of Defense paid 93 million dollars for the missiles that were used.  There is probably a 100% possibility that the missiles will be replaced sending up the earnings of Raytheon.

Moreover, RTN has steadily risen in price over the past year from $124 to $152.  That is a gain of 22%.  How many other companies do you know gained 22% in the past year?  Trump has also signaled that cruise missiles might be used again in Syria, and we have the problem of North Korea as well.  This is one of the few predictable stocks that I see in the stock market today.  Finally, if you buy on Monday, you will get in before the ex-dividend day of April 10.  And the dividend will most likely pay for your commission cost if you buy 10 shares or more.

Bull or Bear

Around ten days ago, I blogged that stocks were going into a pullback although I did not know the extent of it.  That may still be true, but I want to clarify that we are in a long-term bullish trend.  If a large pullback occurs, it should become a buying opportunity for quality stocks and ETFs.

Chris Ciovacco has written an excellent article here about this bullish situation.  He presented excellent charts to show that 2017 is nowhere near the bearish trend of 2008.  He used 100, 200, and 300 day lines to reveal whether we are in a long term bull or bear market.  By paying attention to information like this, we will not get whip-sawed by stock market volatility.

Bonds Are Not Dead

Eric Parnell has written an outstanding article about why the bond bull market will likely continue.  You can read the article here http://seekingalpha.com/article/4057730-bullish-bond-outlook?li_source=LI&li_medium=liftigniter-widget.  I agree with Eric 100%.  He presented information about how the bond selloff last year has ended.  People and countries are buying bonds again because they don't trust the stock market.

Eric also showed charts where the bond yields are stuck in a downward channel.  I am planning to buy more TMF (the 3x long term bond ETF) on Monday because I believe I will be able to make a profit in long term bonds over the next several weeks as stocks gradually fall.  Then, I will sell most of my TMF when the market correction is finished.

Stocks Are Going Down

Eric Parnell has written an excellent article about why stocks are in a correction process right now.  You can read the article here.  He provides outstanding charts to back up this idea along with some possible buy-in points when the market decline is over.

I got on board with this idea during the past week when the Dow suddenly fell over 200 points in a single day.  The love affair with Trump is over for a while.  I immediately bought a position in SQQQ (the 3x short Nasdaq ETF) the day after the market fell.  The stock market decline may indeed be gradual like it has been subtly so in March except for the one big down day.  So, I am looking for a 7-10% pullback over the next several weeks.  Then, I will sell SQQQ for a profit, and I will buy either TQQQ or UDOW for the ride back up.

The Trump Era In Stocks

Now that President Trump has been in office for a while, we can make some plans for investing or trading stocks during his term.  First, the major indexes are up double digits since Trump's election.  This means that the stock market will probably do well if he continues doing okay.  However, we may soon have a market correction since it is overbought now.  I will probably buy more UDOW whenever the market pulls back, and then I will sell part of my UDOW holdings when the market goes back up.  So, I might be able to make money a few times a year during volatility.

Another good idea is to trade natural gas on a seasonal basis.  I made double digit returns on some DGAZ trades in the last two months when the short natural gas ETF was profitable during the warm winter.  Now, I have three bullish natural gas trades going on through UGAZ.  I am planning to hold UGAZ until sometime in July.  More natural gas will be used during the summer when utilities burn it for summer cooling.  The summer is also a time when natural gas is added to storage for the next winter cycle.

What Are the Health Benefits of Sauerkraut Juice? | Live Well - Jillian Michaels

What Are the Health Benefits of Sauerkraut Juice? | Live Well - Jillian Michaels

This is a great article on the benefits of sauerkraut juice. The brand that I like is Frank's Kraut Juice, and it is available at Amazon.com. It also tastes very good. Sauerkraut juice has plenty of good bacteria, and the juice wipes out bad bacteria. It also helps prevent cancer and even the flu.
