Tortoise Capital Advisors Announces Distribution Dates and Amounts for Closed-End Funds - Yahoo! Finance

Tortoise Capital Advisors Announces Distribution Dates and Amounts for Closed-End Funds - Yahoo! Finance

Here is an interesting Yahoo article about cash distributions and times from Tortoise Capital Advisors.  I recommend that everyone's portfolio should contain quality dividend stocks.  TYG is a good one that involves MLP oil and gas stocks as an index, and it pays a 5% dividend in quarterly distributions.

8 Reasons This Sell-Off Is More Than Your Average Correction - Seeking Alpha

8 Reasons This Sell-Off Is More Than Your Average Correction - Seeking Alpha

This is an excellent article giving significant reasons for why we are at a stock market top.  I prefer to look at economic indicators before going fully defensive, and we are not currently in danger there yet.  However, I have built a significant position in TLT, the 20+ year treasury bond ETF in case something goes wrong.  If the Chicago Fed CFNAI (national economic activity index) reading goes below -1.00, it will be time to go completely defensive on stocks.

This is a good article on a U.S. rare earth company which seems to have a significant amount of minerals that would make it profitable in the next few years.  The company officers and the board of directors are impressive. Buying UREE might be worthwhile for a small speculative position.

Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA): Tesla's Crushing Battery Supply Constraints - Seeking Alpha

Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA): Tesla's Crushing Battery Supply Constraints - Seeking Alpha

Here is an interesting article about Tesla and possible battery shortage problems.  The comments at the end of the article are worthwhile reading also.  If we really are going to use a lot of lithium, it may be time to load up on lithium companies.  I'm not really pro or con on this right now, but electric vehicles, hybrids, and lithium may become good future investments.

Beware The Hindenburg Omen [SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, iPath S&P 500 VIX Short Term Futures TM ETN, SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF, PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bearish, Teucrium Crude Oil Fund] - Seeking Alpha

For what it is worth, here is an article on the Hindenburg Omen.  I personally think we have better indicators for stock market direction.  For example, the St. Louis Federal Reserve website has many charts about how the economy is doing, and we are doing okay right now.  The current storm clouds are worries about war in Syria and budget battles in Congress in September and October.  These bad news items may indeed send the stock market down for a while.  Many popular ETFs are listed at the end of the article, and you can choose either bull or bear ETFs depending on which direction you think the stock market is headed.
